We Are Buying $500 & $1000 Bills

We buy a lot of paper money, both foreign and U.S.  But some of our favorite banknotes are $500 and $1000 bills.  No matter the condition, if you have a $500 or $1000 bill, it would be worth your time to bring it in for us to take a look. 

There are a lot of factors that can affect the value of a high denomination banknote.  The year (1928 or 1934), the serial number, and the condition are the three most important things we focus on. 

1928s are a little bit rarer than 1934s, but uncirculated examples of either year are rare.  We are always looking for serial numbers under 100.  If the serial number ends with a star symbol then that will add an additional premium.  

It doesn’t happen much because they are so rare, but we have also owned a few $5,000 and $10,000 bills.  These are worth big money!  All of them are worth $50,000 at a minimum, and most will be worth double or triple that.  The condition is extremely important as well.
